Dr. Brown earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, where she served as the first post-doctoral fellow at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Master of Public Administration degree with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management from California State University Bakersfield.
Dr. Brown has over 18 years of experience in human services delivery, including completion of an APA-accredited internship at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles, serving as a student affairs professional in higher education for 7 years, and as an adjunct faculty member for 5 years. She served as a visiting lecturer and Interim Director of Clinical Training at California Lutheran University, in their Clinical Psychology doctoral program. Additionally, she has worked in a variety of mental health settings and has developed and implemented behavior-modification-based social skills groups for high-functioning children and adolescents with ADHD, anxiety, and Autism.
Dr. Brown has experience conducting behavioral, psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessments with children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to providing our individual, couple, and family therapeutic services; she provides executive coaching on a variety of issues related to human resources, conflict resolution, nonprofit development, sports performance, and diversity. Dr. Brown conducts corporate training and consultations on work stress and conflict resolution, premarital and couple therapy, multicultural issues in psychotherapy, parenting stress management, social skills, behavior modification, psychodiagnostic testing, learning disabilities, and social and academic issues with preschool through college-age students.
Dr. Brown has participated as a member in multiple professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, California Psychological Association, Los Angeles County Psychological Association, Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association, Christian Association for Psychological Studies, California Psychology Internship Council, Postpartum Support International, Perinatal Mental Health Alliance for People of Color, Society for Human Resource Management, MENSA International, and American MENSA. In addition to holding an ASPPB Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate, Dr. Brown is a licensed psychologist in California, Colorado, Idaho and Texas.
